In Search of Myths and Heroes
Fri 4 Feb, 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm  60mins
The Queen of Sheba

In this new series, intrepid historian Michael Wood goes in search of the world's greatest myths.

The first journey aims to find the Queen of Sheba, one of the world's most fascinating heroines. She's been portrayed as Goddess, demon, femme fatale - but did she really exist?

Starting on Easter night in Jerusalem, the myth of Sheba takes Michael Wood on a quest for clues around the Red Sea, from Egypt to Eritrea and Ethiopia, and on to the earliest civilisation of Arabia in the Yemen - to reveal the surprising truth behind the legend.

Livingstone: Sharon is a war criminal

"Not to speak out against this injustice would not only be wrong. It would ignore the threat it poses to us all" Ken Livingstone (The Mayor of London)

Read the articles and news:

"For 20 years Israeli governments have attempted to portray anyone who forcefully criticises the policies of Israel as anti-semitic. The truth is the opposite: the same universal human values that recognise the Holocaust as the greatest racist crime of the 20th century require condemnation of the policies of successive Israeli governments - not on the absurd grounds that they are Nazi or equivalent to the Holocaust, but because ethnic cleansing, discrimination and terror are immoral."  Ken Livingstone

We are still asking about the responsible for those killed in the demonstration on 28 March 2003. We should not ignore it as if it did not happen. Those killed are innocent and their killers should be taken to court.
